Burbank City Review

Burbank California was created in May of 1887 after it was named for the David Burbank originally from New Hampshire who was both an industrialist and dentist. It is roughly a 15 minute drive from the Santa Ana Freeway which is I-5 and 45 minutes south to Anaheim if traveling on the I-5. It has the closest airport to Los Angeles, the Bob Hope airport.

In 1867, 9,000 acres of land in California were purchased by Dr. David Burbank. He expected that the economy was going to skyrocket due to the railroads. He sold the rights to the land directly to the Southern Pacific Railroad for only $1. It was bought and named Burbank afterward. Lots came up for sale in 1887.

Downtown Burbank is one of the most appealing urban centers in all of Southern California. Major media networks such as Nickelodeon, Walt Disney, NBC, ABC, and Warner Brothers all have operations that are based in Burbank.
